Microsoft - Logitech: Compare Wireless M
Wireless Mouse Product Comparison
| |
After careful review of each of the three different technologies used between both Microsoft mouse and Logitech, we now move on to the product themselves. Each product is unique to their company specs, now we will list product features, technology and estimated prices. Note: These are only a few selected items, many more may be found online or at your local retailer.
Basic Mouse
Below we have two basic wireless models from each competitor: They both feature optical sensors, tilt design, customizable one touch buttons, ergonomic supports and other availabilities unique to its own. They are in the same price class, but come with differing technologies. The Microsoft Desktop comes with the 27 MHz technology where as Logitech Desktop features FastRF. In my opinion I would purchase the Logitech set simply because it has the features I require and through research have found FastRF to be more stable. This is in regards to lag time and data transfer speeds.
Microsoft Basic Wireless Optical Desktop

Logitech Cordless Access Duo Optical
Features: Zero Degree Tilt design, optical sensor, advanced digital radio frequency security and performance, audio and video keyboard buttons, one-touch function keys to access web sites, directories, and applications, scroll wheel, mouse has a sleek, comfortable shape Cost: $60
Intermediate
We now have Intermediate Desktop sets where both products feature: optical technology, enhanced function keys, ergonomic designs, longer battery life, customizable buttons and many other features, again unique to the product. The technologies featured within these desktop sets are the same as the Basic sets. That included Microsoft with its 27 MHz, and Logitech with its FastRF technologies. Although, not as with the basic, this time my opinion and vote would definitely go towards the Microsoft model. You may be wondering why on this level I chose differently. Well, on the basic level keyboard sets they both had around the same amount of features, so with that I decided based on the technologies. In this respect, the Intermediate sets both have a good number of features, although I would have to go with the Microsoft, as it has more options, and good technology. If I had crucial documents which were highly confidential that I had to deal with, I would go with FastRF instead.

Elite
In this Elite category we have top of the line products competing for the attention of all consumers, and doing a good job just by looking over the features and technology applied. These two high end competitors flaunt the following features: optical technology, scroll wheel, enhanced function keys, internet buttons, ergonomic design, multimedia controls, customizable buttons, usb connections and much much more, once again, unique to his own. Both of our Elite competitors flaunt the Bluetooth technology and who could blame them. This is after all, what you are really paying for. Everyone wants to type thirty feet away from their system anyway, or try it at least! My selection and humble opinion would have to be bestowed upon the Logitech diNovo. This may seem somewhat steep, price wise if you are not an avid typist or surfer, but for someone who is pretty much connected all day seven days a week, it’s more like a dream. Although, both products demonstrate sleek sophisticated styling for the elite series, they are very different when it came to mandatory features I desire. My main reasons for selecting the Logitech would have to be the Rechargeable mouse. This was the deciding factor when it came down to it. If one thing could be made that much easier, they certainly did it by making this product rechargeable. That’s a plus in my book.
