FAQ: Wireless Mouse and Key Board Benefi
Wireless Mouse FAQ
Is a wireless desktop really worth the money?
This is all up to you. It really depends on what your specific needs are. I personally think they are worth the money. Wireless components allow you to have a nice clean desk area, usually with so many additional features compared to your corded model. Not to mention you can sit however you choose, whether it is proper posture you prefer, or with your shoes kicked off and your feet up on the desk with the keyboard on your lap.
Which wireless keyboard and mouse should I purchase?
You should purchase the set that would prove to be most beneficial to you. Make sure you have decided which features are “must haves” to prevent any impulse buys, due to an advertised sale or a pushy salesperson.
How much should I spend?
This again is a personal preference which should be carefully considered. If you have already decided that you want to switch to wireless, and want the top of the line, but cannot afford it… I would suggest you wait. Because, if you have researched and know of all the features you want, it’s going to be hard to settle for something less. You may even waste more money if a few months down the line after buying the cheaper one, you can afford to buy the more expensive model, and decide to buy it anyway. It does happen quite a bit. Its best not to settle for less, instead save and get what you really want.
After purchasing it how do I set it up?
The manufacturer should provide detailed instructions within the packaging. Please read them carefully to properly install your new equipment.
What’s the most important factor to remember when purchasing these peripherals?
Once again, this is totally up to you. I personally would focus on the technology and security behind it. Although I do not deal with extremely sensitive information, there are things I want to keep secured. With sound security and such advanced technology within these products, you really cannot go wrong.
Where is the best place to purchase these wireless devices?
You can either take a trip to your local electronics store or if you would rather not fight the crowds, most of them are only a click away on the internet.
Is security something I really need to be concerned with?
The way I see it, there will always be hackerz out there trying to prove they can overcome different security platforms, and crackerz trying to gain illegal entry to innocent victims systems to make a profit. This alone is enough for me. Why not protect what you have if it is attainable.
Do I need special drivers to install my new devices to my system?
This is a possibility, and if it is required it should be included with the instructions.
Will it work with my Mac / WebTV / PDA / Gaming system?
If you have one of these types of systems, make sure it clearly states, “supports Mac/WebTV” etc. It will be specified somewhere outside on the packaging, or in the products detailed description if purchasing online. I would not recommend buying it if it is not supported, because more than likely you will end up unhappy with the results.
I did it! I went out and finally bought myself a new wireless desktop set, but it doesn’t seem to work? Can you help?
No… Go back and read all of the instructions carefully. Do everything explained, do not skip any steps. Usually a troubleshooting guide is included with instructions in the event something of this nature occurs. If that does not seem to help, contact information should be provided.
I am an avid gamer, can I benefit from a wireless keyboard?
There are many wireless keyboard and mouse sets that state they have “immediate response time”, but for gamers time is crucial. I do not have experience with games, but know of a few friends who have purchased wireless gaming keyboards with exceptional success. Not only can wireless eliminate the cables to assist with the clutter, but people who travel for LAN parties with their systems should find it a lot easier to pack it up and go. Using these products for gaming, is something that really has to be tried to see if you can benefit from it, this will also help in revealing lag times and any other drawbacks.
