Microsoft offers wireless devices with two of the technologies previously discussed: 27 MHz and Bluetooth. They have used standard wireless technologies and added enhancements that are unique to their products, such as Smart Receiver software and power-saving Optical Technology.

Microsoft has developed these enhancements to ease you if you suffer frustrating occurrences with your current wireless devices such as:

Longer Battery Life

By updating these technologies a feature as simple as longer battery life, makes users lives and experiences just a little bit better. These changes have caused the average battery life to increase to a staggering six months. All of this added with absolutely no compromise to performance. Microsoft states that through their private testing they have concluded that their mouse products have a much greater battery life compared to other products on the market. These tests were done against their major competitors, which showed Microsoft outlasted by up to three times longer compared to other devices. Battery life is indeed a factor to look for when purchasing a wireless product.

Optical Technology

Smooth mouse pointer movement is demonstrated through Microsoft Optical Technology. It eliminates the noticeable delay or jagged pointer motion of some other wireless mouse products.

Smart Receiver Software

Microsoft has added this feature to notify its users of radio interference, also providing battery status information. This works with wireless keyboard and mouse products to reduce the likelihood of cross talk with other wireless devices which will minimize the impact of signal interference.

"My Favorites" Keys

One-key access guides you to your favorite Web sites and files. To assign a key to a destination, just press and hold. Custom settings for multiple users are easy as well, and the “show favorites” hot key gives you a quick view of current settings. Flexibility and unrestricted movement, so you may use your keyboard and mouse in the most comfortable and productive way.

Bluetooth Wireless Technology

Compatibility with other Bluetooth devices, excellent range, battery consumption and high security is what this technology brings to the table. It is the most advanced cable-replacement technology available today. Up to six Bluetooth devices can connect to your computer using the same Bluetooth transceiver.
